Mtec Duomix 2000

Mtec Duomix 2000

Machine Info

Make Mtec
Model Duomix 2000
Price Range New £10,000-£15,000
Type Electric 3 Phase
Use with Wet Mortar Silo Yes
Use with Dry Powder Silo Yes
Excellent mixing and tremendous adaptability for a wide variety of materials are the key properties offered by the duo-mix. The reasons for this: The unique m-tec dual mixing system together with the
patented mixing principle - together making a combination that no other mixing pump on the market can offer!

The patented duomix feature enables the duo-mix to guarantee the best homogeneous mortarquality, even with those products that are more difficult to mix, like certain construction chemicals, for example. The duo-mix 2000 version in particular has an output that can be continuously adjusted to suit the application, making it particularly suitable for special products. Both versions allow long pumping istances to be achieved. The areas of application of the duomix are very varied. In addition to working as a mixing pump, it can also be converted into a continuous mixer or a mortar pump for processing soft materials. Conversion can be carried out in a few simple steps.

The duo-mix can be fed with bagged material, silo material (in conjunction with an m-tec silo, conveying system and filter hood) as well as with bucket coat materials. As is typical of all m-tec systems, the duomix has easy and quick to use tensioning wedges, enabling important elements such as the worm pump or mixer motor to be replaced in just a few seconds.

The duo-mix can be used as a mixing pump, continuous mixer or mortar pump. Together with the continuous regulation of output (with the duo-mix2000 only) you also get the functions only otherwise available with an entire fleet of machines!

Good Points Very good for rendering. And this is to do with the duomix action, which no other machine has got. You get consistency every time even when the rotor and stator is working its way out. Other electric machines give you the wet and dry fluctuation when the rotors and stators are getting worn, with constant water adjustments to compensate. With the duomix, pumping just gets slower - so then you simply just change. I've had lots of machines in my time (M3, Quattro, V2, MP35, G4, G5, Brinkman). And I prefer the Duomix 2000 over the lot of them.
Bad Points Yes, it's high priced. And you do need to be a bit of technician sometimes if it throws up a fault.

I've said it all above. It's a great machine. Like any piece of equipment which is highly engineered, treat it well and keep it serviced and it will never give you any real problems. I have 3 of these machines now. Each one goes out with a competent crew, a good tool kit and a machine operator with lots of knowledge. I've heard people say that these machine have given them nothing but trouble. But when you actually ask them what tolerance or setting a particular component needs to be set at or what precisely that component does and what it regulates or controls, they can't tell you. There's your answer.

Good Points I love this machine. It does everything I could ever need it to do except site mix sand and cement. It pumps all gypsum plasters, external renders, brick mortar, adhesives, flowing screed etc, and with the wet hopper pumps ready mix materials such as bucket coat renders and multifinish (if you want to run it through that way already mixed). The fact that it has the frequency inverter you can turn the speed down to accommodate the different material types.
Bad Points It's still a bit too high priced I think. A couple or a few grand cheaper would be good and more people would buy it. It's a little harder to contain the mess when cleaning down as with other machines out there. And as with most machines, the wheels are a pain trying to get the machine around a building over rubble and type 1 etc. But I've found a great company who make caterpillar tracks for all different machines and got some fitted. Now I just move it around on site like a radio controlled car!
